Vases, Candle Holders, and Wine Stands in Brass.
The dining table transforms into a stage where every element plays a defined role. It is not just a place to eat but a space of rituality, where gestures take on deep meanings. This project stems from the idea of amplifying the sense of conviviality, conceiving each object as a tool to enhance the experience of sharing.
The collection includes three vases named Crateri, six candle holders called Lucerne in different heights, and two table wine stands named Bacco.
In ancient Greece, the Symposium was a moment of cultural dialogue and sharing between art, food, and wine, marked by precise rituals: after lighting the lamps, the symposiarch was chosen to mix wine with water in the krater, and a cupbearer would distribute the drink.
Simposio draws inspiration from this ritual, reinterpreting it in a contemporary key through elements that create an intimate atmosphere made of light and material. The three Crateri vases stand out for their sculptural shape, featuring a double-hourglass body enriched with tin-welded arms. The six Lucerne, available in various heights, bring the table to life: the flickering candlelight outlines shapes, illuminates faces, and creates shadows and reflections, evoking a warm and timeless atmosphere. Completing the set is the Bacco duo, which elevates the bottles, enhancing their presence.
Brass, with its warm golden hue, was chosen for its living and ever-changing nature: it oxidizes, alters, and preserves the traces of time, becoming a witness to every encounter.
Entirely crafted in Palermo, on Via Calderai, this project echoes the creativity and sensitivity of artisans who transform an ancient material into a contemporary and vibrant narrative.
For us, designing means storytelling—not a design for its own sake, but a dialogue that unites the memory of craftsmanship with the sharing of time, weaving a tale of conviviality
