Axia is, before being an object, an idea: a system where light, structure, and energy become one.
It begins with a simple question: what happens if you remove the wire from a chandelier?
When light is no longer bound to a cable but flows through the structure itself, the nature of the lamp changes. Technology disappears, leaving only what is essential: proportion, balance, light.
Axia reinterprets the archetype of the chandelier through a reduction of elements.
A central conductive axis hosts the positive and negative poles, becoming the spine of the system. From it, slender steel arms extend, carrying energy to luminous points distributed in space like a constellation.
Rather than designing a form, the project constructs a luminous field:
light occupies space with lightness, defining it without weighing it down.
The name Axia, from ancient Greek, means both value and axis: that which supports, connects, and gives meaning.
In this project, the axis is not only a technical component, but a principle — the measure that holds together matter and light, function and form.
The stainless steel structure, treated with a PVD finish, is not simply coated but transformed:
colour emerges from the material itself, preserving electrical continuity while contributing to the diffusion of light.
Axia is a flexible and modular system, designed to adapt to different contexts, from residential to public spaces.
It can be disassembled into a compact package and comes to life through assembly — a gesture that brings the user closer to light.
Balance, system, light.
Axia is a lamp that draws space even when switched off.
